BOARD GAME: LIGHT ATTACK PROTOTYPE

ROLE: USER RESEARCHER AND UX DESIGNER

WHAT IT IS

It is a light attack game which has two players, an attacker and a defender. The attacker strikes the defender using button to run the light, whereas the defender avoiding the light by moving the cube to the right or to the left. To indicate that the defender lost is the red lamp will turn on.

While playing a light attack game, particularly, it requires a strategy that people have to control the speed to attack the opposite, while a defender learns to avoid the attack.

The hardware includes Arduino Lotus, three button, LED Matrix, Servo, Light Sensor, Chainable RGB LED.

CHALLENGES

We identified that students in the university experience lack of social interaction leading to difficulty making friendship and maintaining bonding.

SOLUTION

We design a board game that addresses the forms of human interaction between two players. It also support students’ enjoyment and strengthen emotional bonds to friends. By playing this game, the students are also able to learn problem solving, develop thinking, fine motor skill, agile, flexible and self-control.

IDEATION - Develop Hardware and Software

Designing the game concept as it is a simple board game that is designed as a trigger interaction tool, easy to use, and more enjoyment for people while they are playing.

IMPLEMENTATION

USER TESTING

We undertook user testing on two persons before and after they played our prototype. Both of them are students in young adult.
